Get it to your dry cleaner within 24 hours (not immediately—letting it dry a bit actually helps). Tell the dry cleaner exactly what the stain is. Wine, coffee, food, whatever. They'll treat it specifically.

If you absolutely need to press it before a meeting, use a steamer, not an iron. Steamer is gentler on the fibers.

Don't dry clean while you're traveling if you can avoid it. Wait until you get home and use your trusted dry cleaner.
